Safety and Protection
Safety and Protection is the responsibility of every person in children’s ministry. This subject cannot and must not be avoided. Yet many churches still have no Safety and Protection protocol or, if they do, do not really understand it or appreciate the importance of it.
- In this introductory training seminar, you will come to:
- Understand the problem of child abuse.
- Learn how to deal with leaders and workers who offend.
- Learn screening processes that will protect your children.
- Learn how to establish a Duty of Care protocol.
- Learn how to conduct an initial interview when a child makes disclosure of abuse.
- Understand what you can do to prevent children in your care being abused by a worker or another child.

Empowering Children
“Empower: to authorize; to enable or permit.” Random House Dictionary.
Maybe you work with children who just need general direction on how to manage (bring authority to) the things that happen in their lives or maybe you work with children who need to look deeper for ways to cope with the stresses in their lives.
This introductory workshop will give practical ideas on how to help them. Using stories and object lessons to develop skills in the children, you will be encouraged to address their problems in a meaningful way.
